The breathtaking, intimate Gallery Room at Oakland's historic Brooklyn Preserve provides the perfect venue for Romeo + Juliet. Built in 1887 as a Presbyterian Church, it is now privately owned and operated as a community center for the arts.
The Gallery Room is on the top floor of the building. It features restored stained glass windows and a stunning cupola that filters natural light. Its octagonal shape evokes a spirit of community, and its latticed structure of panels are a beautiful parallel to the architecture of Shakespeare's Globe Theatre in London.
Brooklyn Preserve is located at 1433 12th Avenue in Oakland.
